Strongbox Compatibility

Strongbox Compatibility

Please also check our technical requirements page for more details.

Operating Systems

Strongbox is compatible with most every network operating system, including:

  • Linux
  • Unix
  • FreeBSD
  • OSX
  • QNX
  • Amiga
  • AIX
  • Irix
  • Solaris
  • System 7
  • NetBSD
  • Hurd
  • any other POSIX style system

The *only* systems Strongbox is known to not run well on are the Microsoft consumer PC systems,
DOS and Windows. The Strongbox Security System tm is developed on Fedora Linux systems, but all
features should work 100% on any POSIX style system. We no longer sell nor support Strongbox on a
server with any Windows Operating system.

  • NATS
  • WordPress
  • Apache Web Server

and most other software.

Strongbox works with most processors. We have had excellent experience integrating with the following:

A couple of Strongbox users have had trouble getting their web host to enable the catch-all (wildcard) “sub domains” used by the Strongbox Security Systemtm. Hundreds of different web hosts have enabled this for Strongbox users with no trouble, and some web hosts do it by default. However, just a few hosts have refused to enable it, either because they are unwilling to take three minutes to do so, or because they don’t know what a wildcard is, and lacking basic system admin knowledge they are afraid to follow our simple instructions.
